day trip: ewam buddha garden

May 1, 2014

red, blue, green, yellow and white
worn by peace, gentle wind and the bluest sky

in the middle of nowhere
definitely somewhere

four things to hear

small feet skipping over earth
meadowlarks
new grass meeting their new grass neighbors, pushed together by gusts
laughter

just the three of us, alone
with 1000 buddhas

glitter, gold, pearls, flowers
jewels, coins, crystals, stones
a little girl’s dream come true: there for the taking
a little girl’s tough lesson: not ours to take

is buddha a person?
are the bears awake around here?
do you believe in god?
is it summer yet?

walking in circles
new perspective every round

around again

the drive home, bright and inquisitive
over hills, through the reservation
mountains impossibly sharp and snowy and glorious
car warm, engine hum, car seats snapped
the drive home, secure and asleep

divine here

holy now

faith together

gratitude always
