Andy is home and the whole absence makes the heart grow fonder bit rings true here. He got home super late on Saturday night/Sunday morning all mountain man sun-kissed, river-tumbled. We stayed up even later swooningly catching up on all the daily ins and outs we hadn’t shared in two weeks. That’s what I missed most. Talking to my partner, sharing stories, bouncing around ideas and thoughts, touch. I missed it, he missed it and we spent the rest of the weekend connecting two weeks of daily dots for each other. It was like new love.
Margot and Ruby performed their nightly bed crawl, heaving their bodies against ours sometime after the moon was high and bright and before the sun lit our home. They didn’t discover bearded papa was there until they woke up next to him, electric joy all around. Sunday was one of my most favorite days ever.
While Andy was away I had a dental appointment where I unexpectedly had to bring both my kids. It was this moment. My two and half year-old slept on my body, my skirt a little inappropriately high, my mouth uncomfortably open….Click to read mama digs: dental damn.
And the Secret Stairs! Well, he was surprised and happy and amazed. A proper post tomorrow.
