honey shimmy

Such predictable wonder in the seasonal shift. I look to every animal and plant as they lean into light and temperature change with grace. In fall, trees burst into brilliance before shedding their showy armor, standing naked, confident, quiet. Animals tumble closer the earth, crawling into it if they can. The planet spins at the same pace but its inhabitants slow their biorhythms like a collective exhale, we all shimmy through honey.

I haven’t been here as much lately. I, and my house full of family, are practicing our honey shimmy.
