weekend chores

June 3, 2007

Lots happening on the hot hot Missoula weekend. First I made the most delicious salad with the spicy Mesclun mix (Andy gathered the lettuce) and radish from my garden, pear and shrimp. And then drizzled a balsamic and olive oil dressing over the top. I picked as many radishes as I could so I could get the rest of my tomato plants (the amazing volunteers) in the ground.

I designed and set-up my outdoor dining area (check out my peas in that photo! Almost ready for harvest). I found this stunning black-eyed susan vine and as always, I love red and magenta geraniums.

I also finally figured out how to use the cool old fireplace in my backyard. I had been planting items directly into soil in the pit but it is so shallow that the little guys wouldn’t last long especially since I am no where close to a daily waterer. So I filled the space with a container garden of orange and variegated orange marigolds. The top is one of our kitty’s most favorite spots.
