Santa brought our daughters each a streamer last year and they continue to be one of our home’s favorite toys. And, the one of our frequent go-to gifts for friends!

Mama and creator, Sarah, developed the company out of her son’s desire to play. She first grabbed a silk scarf and eventually found herself dying silk squares and now, 18 years later, a complete line silk play items are found in home and schools around the world.

    We discovered Sarah's Silks in our local Whole Foods store. This was well-timed with my daughter's birthday and she quickly spent a good amount of her birthday money on a streamer and wings. But I see lots of other things (the veil!) that she would love for Christmas!

    My almost-6 boy still regularly plays with his collection of Sarah's playsilks. Yesterday they were part of the "Flower Stage" and "Marvelous Colors Stage" he created to sing made-up songs on guitar (a la Hardly Strictly Bluegrass). Amazing playthings for imaginative play…a long-time favorite!

    I love the story of Sarah's Silks' creation. I have found so much inspiration in my own kids; they will say something, see something, play with something, and I think "oooh, I could make that"! I have made them many things, and have now turned it into a small sewing business. My daughter recently received a play silk for her birthday and it has been imagined into so many different things. I would LOVE to give her and my son streamers for Christmas. They look like hours of fun and imagination!
