Andy and I went to art school with Holly Andres and sister’s art career is cruising through stardom. We visited her charming home the last time we were in Portland, scooping up an envelope from her doorstep as we knocked. We hugged and talked and looked around her eclectic home, dripping with her unique style of thrifted, luscious, sometimes-strange objects and art. Then she opened the envelope and it contained the recent Time magazine featuring a photo spread of hers. Over the next few hours we learned about the big jobs she had lined up, the big exhibit on the horizon and the big commissions she is doing. Everything delivered with her signature gentle, humble, authentic and impassioned way.
She’s gorgeous and tough, like Farrah Fawcett meets pin up meets Annie Oakley. She’s just effortlessly awesome — full of love, wit, creativity and generosity. Speaking of these things, look what she made for us.
Holly spent an entire day in our home photographing our family in a few different setups. The whole experience was amazing for us and our kids. She’s just plain wonderful – one of those people who multiplies the energy in a room.
Our new photograph captured a moment that passed soon after: the bunk beds have since been debunked, which created the perfect wall for art.
We own another of Holly’s masterpieces, one of the most-complimented art pieces in our home. Many of you have asked about it before!
Holly reveals the awesome pieces of her subject’s personality and then memorializes *that* moment. Finally, she delivers a piece of art that will be forever valued. Instant heirloom.
Holly will be in Missoula, her hometown, this coming week. She is offering a Montana discount of $1000 per sitting (about 50% off) which includes one 20×30″ print. Additional prints can be purchased for $500. It’s an incredible opportunity! Interested? Yes, you are. Or, do you live elsewhere and want to hire Holly? Email her at [email protected].
